So should I preorder this on Steam ($30) or Green Man Gaming ($24)? Does Green Man Gaming have a good sale record with preordered games? Do the developers get less $$ if I buy through GMG? Thoughts?

Yes

No

>Thoughts?
Buy it

It's made by Capcom, why would you want to give them money.

They're not even releasing DD O in the west
>>
Who is this Green Man?
>>
I bought it on gmg and received my preorder code shortly after. has been in my steam library for a few weeks.
>>
>>322868531
GMG means no refunds.
Sometimes they also send you the key late. This isnt the case with DD where you get the key instantly.
Also $24 is too much.
Use the following 25% off code instead of the regular 20%.

I got a few games from GMG and I got seriously fucked, they gave me a used key 3 days AFTER release I had to open a ticket that took another day to respond and finally got my new game about a week after release

Needless to say I don't plan on buying from them anymore, GMG is shady as fuck
>>
>>322868649

How do they lower the price and profit then?
>>
>tfw it's $20 on Steam thanks to regional pricing
>>
>>322868887
>$24
>25% off
>literally $1
how?
>>
>>322868887

Thanks for the code :)
>>
>>322869004
they use magic
i've been buying keys from shadier sources for a while now, never had an issue
pc games are routinely 60% off prerelease on keysites
>>
>>322869004
>buy shit dirt cheap in russia
>re-sell the key in real monies for massive profit
it's technically illegal or something, but nobody gives a shit apparently
>>
>>322869137
I wish people would stop spreading this info around. if it ever becomes mainstream then pc gaming is fucked.

Nigga, I already got my key days ago. Same day I pre-ordered it. All the pre-order content as promised.

Buying directly through Steam is for suckers who don't know any better. They can afford to charge more on Steam 'cause it's most people's first and last stop for buying shit.
>>
>>322868936
Oh, that sucks
I personally never experienced anything like that nor have I heard anyone complain before

>>322869004
It costs less for them to maintain their business, that's how sales work

The base/initial price of a game is not what the Steam or whatever reseller provides you with, it includes the profit they need to gain from it as well as the price for the service they provide

I don't know the exact numbers, but imagine that a single key costs like $15 or so, they then include their service fee of $5 and the profit they gain from reselling it, which is the rest of the price (this is all very abstract and should not be taken as proof of anything specific)
Other costs might also come into this

please nigga, these keysites are plastered all over twitch, its already too late

How safe is GMG to use? I've read stories where games from G2A actually got locked by Steam and I think some people got banned too.
>>
>>322869586
falseflaggers out to defend the honors of devs/valve
>>
>>322869586
its safe

the main difference here is that gmg isnt using stolen keys
>>
GMG is ok, but they install spyware just so it knows what games you play

The real reason you shouldn't use some russian shithole of a site is that they sell your credit card info around.

Thanks Capcpom.

You should go to kingwin and get a code for like 21 bucks

the reason I think it will ruin pc gaming if a significant group of people start doing it is because the devs won't make enough money. it won't be profitable to port something like dd to pc because everyone will buy cheap/stolen keys.

and good thing I use paypal for all online purchases then.

Not really. Maybe 1/6 of the fun?
Unless you like to waifufag your pawn up but that's still divorced from online gameplay.

GMG is a website. You're thinking of capsule, their shitty ass client that nobody uses and isn't at all necessary to buy a key and copy paste it into Steam.

The game is normally $30 but has a 20% off coupon which would take $6 off. 25% of 30 is 7.5 so they're rounding down which would remove $7. It's alright if you didn't get it I was the math prodigy in highschool.

>2012
>the year this game came out

It's got like three years worth of reviews. It's a good game, the world knows that by now. Pre-ordering is a risk, but this is a port of a popular game and Capcom is pretty decent at porting. Netcode and continued patching, not so much, but it'll most likely be a far better port than Dark Souls was. But the bonus for pre-ordering is pretty great and it's a ~$24 purchase, not a $40+ one.

Capcom cleaned up their act. They've been extremely friendly lately

>MUH MEGA MAN

They're clearly trying to relaunch the brand with the not so secret deals they've been making lately. Be patient, unless you want Mega Man to get a Sonic treatment where they just rush out a shit game and call it a day.
