I recently bought and finished Fire Emblem Awakening. I'm looking to play some more of the older Fire Emblem games before the new one comes out. Any recommendations on which one I should play next?

The GBA ones (6,7,8) are all pretty fun, even if the latter two are a tad easier than most.

Yeah you pretty much can't go wrong in comparison to Awakening. Fe2 is dope though. It's a nice change of pace in a series where like 8 of the games are nearly identically and two others are remakes.Also, 11 > Awakening

I recently got Shadow Dragon from a friend but I always hear /v/ complain about it. Can I ask why? Only thing I can think of is the unavoidable deaths for certain characters or for side content.

Yeah, having to kill off your own units purely for getting side quests was stupid, especially since they'll waste your deployment slots each chapter to stay under 15 units.
Another reason was that it stayed a little too true to the original, so a few things like Supports just weren't there.
Also, more than half of your army was useless/bad anyway.
Still, it's a fun game.
I very much recommend playing Heroes of Light and Shadow if you enjoy Shadow Dragon. It put supports back in has a good translation patch.
So i tried playing Fire emblem shadow dragon after everyone was raving how amazing this game is.
Why is it so shit? It feels like a 0 effort game, fuck you could find better or just as good games on newgrounds years ago and you did not have to buy a ds for it.
