I think a ARPG from the German perspective would be cool. You would start out as a normal German soldier in 1939 and as the game progressed you could branch into the Wehrmacht and become a stand up soldier, or become a party member and join an SS unit. Each choice would have consequences and different effects on you character, including which theater you deployed to and the way your soldier fights.
Of course it would never get made.

You play as an American/Japanese solider left on a pacific island after a retreat. The island is controller by the other side, and you need to scrounge for food and shelter and water, but if you create too much smoke or too obvious of a shelter, they notice you. You have to kill the other side's soldiers during the night for ammo and stuff

RO2/RS has about 1000-2000 players daily, with such numbers there'd be only 2 or 3 servers to be filled.
I'm afraid this type of game is too niche to really take off.
