Is there a mod that lets the random NPCs yield long enough, like stop their regenerating health, so that I can actually walk away into another area without being chased after again?
For as terrible as some of the mechanics of Skyrim are, I do enjoy the role-playing factor of it. Being the merciful thief however is impossible. I want to whittle down my opponents health and get them out of way. Bonus points if I can still loot them while they're surrendering.

I never got any of the dialogue and everytime I choke someone out they go to the yielding stance on one knee. All I got is this long rectangular box with the choices to rape, kill, rob, tie up and some others. Is it a mod other than Defeat?

im pretty sure it's defeat and what you are getting is normal just sometimes tough when sneaking up with a weapon instead of choking someone out the pc will say something and the npc will drop his weapons and surrender giving you the dialoug box
