I don't know why but every time I see Ryu in Smash I just smile, it's awesome. It's weird though because I don't even like Street Fighter, I like Sonic and Pac-Man a lot more. But Ryu in Smash just feels amazing to have.
Looking at the image Bayonetta really is the odd one out, however she's more of a peoples choice character than a third party guest I suppose?

She was only the winner in Yurop. She was only #5 in the US and didn't even chart in Japan. However, she was #1 among characters who were realizable and negotiable. It's interesting that the "negotiable" part is in the disclaimer. I'd wager that that means Snake was higher overall than she was, but couldn't be negotiated with Neo-Konami.
Ryu has the most distinct feel of a 3rd party character. Just because he's not OP bullshit doesnt mean he isnt the best add.

That's fair I suppose. I threw her a 'mite b cool' vote at the start and then mostly ignored the ballot from that point onwards so I was happy.
I see this basically as her one chance to be in something relevant. They can use any 1st party character basically whenever the hell they want but as evidenced with Snake, even though its certainly almost 100% Konami's fault, left field 3rd parties wont always be a guarantee. If she's never in anything ever again I'd be disappointed but as of now I'm happy she's getting some extra special treatment.
Coolest are these two. They're just awesome to have.

Cloud is frustrating as shit. The dude has a really hard time knocking people out. You almost need to be using limit break to get a kill, regular attacks won't knock out until 150+. But the most annoying thing is his shitty fucking recovery
