Suguri is actually really goddamn difficult. It's also published by Rockin' Android, who have a track record for being collosal shitheads.
Sora is easier, and is effectively a prequel. Fruitbat Factory is publishing that one, and so far seem to be pretty good at making sure their games are properly localized and finished.
There's two fighting games that go with the Suguri series that are seriously awesome and play like Psychic Force 2.
QP Shooting Dangerous is possibly the best entry into shooters.
