My step dad used to give me so much shit for playing video game when I was young. We quarreled a lot over that and I really hated him at some point. He'd wired a lamp switch to the electrical cable of the TV and put a lock on it so I won't watch too much tv when my parents aren't home. Did the same with the pc and constantly put windows passwords and would only let me use it for 1 hour a day until I eventually either guessed the passwords (always numbers or words you could see from sitting at the desk) or circumvent them entirely.
I think he is part of the reason I've never brought friends and grew up a beta kissless virgin.

Ain't that depressing truth. Now I'm not saying that they were idiots for doing it, god knows I've never been in a position where I had to make that choice.
