It's not. You can buy consumables with in-game credits cheaply. As for premium vehicles, they tend to be decent but very rarely better than the ones you unlock in the tech trees.
All premium game time does is give you 50% more exp and credits which just speeds up the grind for new vehicles.

I never understood this argument. In both WoT and WoWS, the lower tiers are the most enjoyable ones. Past Tier 7, matches become carrier duels in which playing any ship besides a carrier is pretty much a guaranteed loss.

Well, they're the only way to decide if someone is good.
There are even equations that use bits of every other stat. Called, for example, WN6 or WN8. To produce a number that is then graded on a scale.
For example, greens would be like 800 on a certain stat. Blues would be like 1000, and purples would be 1600. Or higher.
While bad players would be like 400.
It's all they talk about.
Clans have gotten so exclusive today, the 4chan /vg/ clan is dead as fuck, that I can't find a clan anymore.
To earn gold. So I just quit. With /vg/ dead, there was no community interested in me. Because I'm only above average. Everyone now whats 58%+ winrate and 8 tier 10 tanks or some fucking shit. I only got into /vg/ because I was from the threads, we had some really good games and I don't remember losing but 5 games.

I dunno about WoT, but Warships has no such consumables. The only shit you can buy (other than premium) are Elite Ships, and those are the squishiest ships in the game. They're objectively inferior to the ships you have to manually unlock.

The main issue with it really is it's not War Thunder.
I've played both and I think War Thunder is just a better, more furfilling experience. It's still grindy as fuck and comes with its fair share of P2W Premium Tanks and fucking cunt nugget imbalances (in high tiers), but the gameplay is so much more enjoyable.
The WarGaming series does have variety though, way more vehicles, but that doesn't mean shit to me since the combat is so RNG based.

I've only played world of tanks and it was fairly mediocre, certainly nothing to play for more than a couple of days - there are better multiplayer experiences out there.
