There are many questions to be answered

It's impractical for pvp games because you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. It would be like playing DDR on a dance pad and competing against 29 people using a controller.
>>
>>322473941
Huh, I kind of thought it would cost around the same price as a treadmill.

still, it looks cheap and will probably break quickly if you arent careful with it.

Just play on a treadmill or elliptical bike if you want something like that.

If you don't have one and don't want to buy one, just go to a gym and use one. Bring a handheld game if you want to play vidya.

If you don't want to go to the gym, go for a walk/run.

If you don't want to do any of that, there is no way something like that will make you thin.
>>
>>322473146
It wouldn't make you thin on its own but if you supplemented with a healthy diet then yes. It's pretty cheap given the hype around VR. It's worth it to experience a greater degree of immersion. Devs are only scratching the surface with fps games atm. Using something like this with an MMO would probably make it a bearable experience.

>>322474341
Its just a slippery surface. You essentially glide around on these omni directional treadmills.

Cardio only?

It's not very effective, you may want to lift instead so not only you burn calories but build up muscle, this will avoid also the loss of muscle from cardio.

This will also give you testosterone (especially if you stop being neurotic about food and insist in just becoming stronk). Testosterone burns fat by just existing.

A gimmick is a unique or quirky special feature that makes something "stand out" from its contemporaries, so yes, your VR treadmill is a gimmick.

Not even that anon but I was 180lbs in June & I lost 30lbs+ in 3 months by jogging 4+ miles every 2 days & cutting down to >1500kcals a day. >cardio
>loss of muscle

look weight training is great and all but at some point this bullshit needs to stop. cardio is great exercise and will absolutely strengthen different groups of muscles depending on the type of exercise you do. most forms of outdoor cardio strengthen many areas of muscle and are great exercise. get good at endurance cardio activities and you'll shred through calories. anybody who is looking to get fit that is writing off cardio is just an idiot

weight training is by all means a great complement to cardio, but all the anti-cardio meme shit really needs to stop at some point. things like cycling and running are great activities to get fit, get healthier, and lose weight. you can easily burn through hundreds of calories in under an hour without ever having to go to a gym or anything, and you'll still be strengthening a lot of muscles while doing so. i usually go for about a 20 mile ride on my bike a few times a week and burn around 700 calories unless i take a particularly hard route; takes around an hour and a half including warming up. getting into cycling has done wonders for my health and overall fitness, and i haven't needed anything besides my bike and time to do it.

if all you care about is bulking up, sure, continue to believe cardio is pointless and do nothing but lifting. you're really missing out on a lot of health and general fitness benefits by ignoring cardiovascular exercise, though, and you're perpetuating bullshit when you tell people cardio is bad

just eat less rice and combine it with protein heavy foods when eating like beans. measure how much cooked rice you're using. eating protein-rich and fiber-rich foods while eating any carbs will fill you up pretty quickly and help keep you from overeating the carb-heavy foods. there isn't anything inherently wrong with rice; it's a perfectly healthy food combined with other things

Ok
Qualified pt and presently competing in bodybuilding.

Here is some advice.
Take it or leave it I guess.
I am going to make the following assumptions.

You are male.
You presently don't work out

When u list reps the number will be the maximum
So 10 reps would mean the 10th is very difficult

Slight Incline bench press 3 sets 12 reps

Squats 4 sets 10 reps

Cable row 4 sets 12 reps
Lateral pull 3 sets 12 reps

Lateral raise 3 sets 15 reps

Do this 3 days a week not back to back.

Diet
To lose weight make your breakfast / lunch high protein low everything else

Gain muscle
High protein high carbs after the workout.

Throw questions my way and ill and I'll answer as best as I can.

How do you think you gain weight?

People who are slightly overweight don't eat 20 gallons of ice cream a day. They eat just slightly more than they need to over a long period of time. Burning 150-200 calories in a workout once a day combined with eating less will make you /fit/ in a month or two.

First step should really be muscle building.
Cardio comes in after due to the fact that this workout will be tough for a new started.

You are correct in highlighting this.

I would put cardio in about 3-4 weeks in

Nope i don't get paid.

>didn't drink soda for 3 months
>instead drank healthy ice tea with lemon so you know it's good and healthy also 5 teaspoons of sugar, still healthy

Just stop eating sugar and realize how much sugar is actually around you.

Your workout is a burnotu for people starting exercising past freshman year in highschool. You know many people have slacked off past that and aren't fit. And when they overwork every muscle in their body, they can't walk or use their arms. Their back and stomach hurts, and they have absolutely no recovery time to start another regimen.

You forgot to mention the part where you >space out your days for different parts
>aka LEG DAY

As long as you're outside and doing something, I hate people that come up with any excuse to stay cooped up in bed.

But I get reminded of how I used to be 7-8 years ago. 5'7 and 248 lbs, just pure fat because I was lazy as shit after dropping out of high school. Started swimming in jan 2011, was at 168 lbs and wearing size 30 jeans by Feb 2012. Started weightlifting as I wanted more muscle and I'm swinging between 205-210 right now.

If I can go from NEET to weightlifter, anyone on /v/ can.

Splits are not needed until the person gets more advanced.

This is a variation on hst training.
Take note that there is not many sets or reps for each body part.

It's fine for a starter.
>>
>>322474962
>I hate the taste of water
you have 0 self discipline and will die of clogged arteries.
>>
>>322481027
Splits ARE very well needed. Because I didn't split and you're fine for 2-3 weeks and then you FEEL it. Then it leads to you not working out at all.

There's never a time where someone doesn't need to split, because that way they can get more reps in that they're comfortable with in a day than fatigue. You're completely forgetting that nourishment across the body is not equal to nourishment in a specific area.

Like I said, it's easy for you and looking back, it's easy for you to recommend this. But you're also ignoring the fact that there are some people who can hardly do a pushup and even these "starting points" are brutal.

Nice one.

Give it a try guys

Because these people in question are fat as fuck. Even scoobs recommends 30 min cardio 3 times a week.

First, you revive arcades with meme games. Then, once the flow comes through, place 12 of these meme machines somewhere noticeable in said arcades. When all is ready, just offer TF2 in VR for $5 a pop and BOOM. Make money, become famous, get bitches. That's how everybody else does it in this business.

Not that guy, but seriously

I can just see some fat neckbeard with a mouse and keyboard on a steadycam mount walking into the arcade and asking which bitches want to dance.

What about people with a small layer of fat but huge abs?

I don't even do ab exercises, unless squats count
>>
>>322486350
It's not much.
The rep range sorts our the inactivity issue.

If someone if out of shape they won't be able to lift significant weight.
Ie 10 reps may be only body weight squats

I can see where your concerns lie however i have tried and had great success from overwight guys wanting to get into shape.

That program is based on hst
Has literally been put into practice for my clients.
The majority of whom have never stepped in a gym before.
I did need to tweek it for each client as virtually everyone has postural issues
Most had to reduce a set on chest and shoulders and needed to include an additional set in cable row
(They were front loaded muscle wise due to sitting perched in front of a monitor )

I am qualified (although it's very easy to do so )

But more importantly the program has been put into practice with a group of people and it's resulted in success.

I guess you don't need to trust me really but it works.
It won't wreck you.
It's free professional advice.

Win win
