In fighting games, you get amazing at the game to carry it to greater aesthetic heights (best case: amazingly effective players make the game look amazing too). In speedrunning, you're probably going to win through sheer autism-persistence alone. The autistic player isn't burdened with aesthetic demands or significant humanity, thus he can replay the same game into infinity somehow.
