I enjoy playing on RP servers since it tends to be a more lax atmosphere with less, or at least different kinds of shitters running arond and most people have names that make sense, IC chatter can be nice for atmosphere.
But I stopped enjoying RP years ago. It feels too restricting in-game, and if I'm logged in I'd rather be playing the actual game than sitting around waiting for other people to reply in RP. Tabletop games are such a superior RP experience I haven't been able to have fun with vidya RP in way too long.

Back in the day, the scene was pretty lively. You'd see groups of people engaging in RP everywhere, be it walk-up or not. You couldn't spend ten minutes in a city without being approached one way or another.
Now it's just lifeless, as only the autistic NEETs still play, and all they do is stand around in stormwind waiting for someone to approach them and not engaging in anything themselves. Then when you do talk to them, it turns out they're just looking for furry ERP.
