I'm not trying to force my opinion on other people, but I can't understand why this game gets so much praise around here. The story has nothing ambitious going for it, yet everyone acts like it's the best thing ever since baked bread.
That's because it's not.
It's the best thing since SLICED bread.
It'sfun.

you must have played your first video game in the last few years

a good game but eople wanted a sequel to ttyd, and i can understand that, because that battle system made paper mario unique.

>Story.
>Doesnt mention the fun gameplay, perfect difficulty level, or anything else that makes it amazing.
Storyfags please fucking shoot yourselves.
The story is cliche as fuck but the game doesn't give a fuck, it never takes itself seriously.

It is just super sugoi, you baka!
>>322373382
Because it was something new and interesting. Something Mario hasn't done in nearly a decade.

story is admittedly bare bones but the characters are charming as is the dialogue.
It also helps that the gameplay, pace, and level design are some of the best in a JRPG.
It's linear but at the same time it doesn't need to be open ended because it's fucking mario

>Fun gameplay
Gameplay is literally just 64 on the Gamecube. And those Bowser levels are pointless.
>Perfect difficulty level
Please elaborate.
It's a horrible game full of backtracking.
The only reason people like it is because they still have their nostalgia goggles on.

>Gameplay is literally just 64 on the Gamecube
>implying that's bad
People like you are why Sticker Star exists.

>Gameplay is literally just 64 on the Gamecube.
>ignoring stylish
>Ignoring being able to fully control your partner.
>Ignoring that partners can actually faint now.
>ignoring all the unique star powers.
>ignoring all the new and interesting badges
