Jesus christ, last night I discovered Nightmare Frontier and it's fucking terrifying. These monsters with their ribs out and horizontal maws scare the shit out of me and the Winter Lanterns make it even worse.

60 insight is the price of the insight shop Blood Rock available late in the game. Insight lets you see things that weren't there before, but the only place it really makes a difference difficulty wise is in Hemwick and when dealing with frenzy.

Enemies are mostly the same, with more insight a couple of enemies will gain a buff and certain enemies will appear in certain areas. Also you are weaker to frenzy. Bosses stay the same except for the 2 witches fight

Well, its not patches, but there are spiders with human heads in Nightmare of Mensis.
If the entrance was replaced with human spiders instead of regular spiders, i would drop the game.
Ripping Vicar Amelia's eyeballs out from visceral attacks really spooked me for some reason.

Dark Souls 1 has parasitic larvae, but it's still the hollow they're attached to that's in control. It's arguably even more terrifying that way anyway. Imagine having a huge fucking spider living on or inside you and you can't die or do anything about it.

I only ever ran into two because I got to Yharnam and immediately lost all motivation to continue playing chalice dungeons, but two things worked for me:
1. Parrying.
2. Augur of Ebrietas is a guaranteed knock down so you can spam it until they die.
