Do you prefer playing games on actual hardware?
I don't care literally at all
There is a pleasant "authentic" feel I enjoy, but generally it's not enough for me to dig out my old systems and hook everything up. Emulating is much more convenient and close enough for me.

I'll emulate only if I can play it with its original controller. Emulating handhelds on PC is the stupidest fucking thing ever and I hope none of you do it.

If it's easier to emulate I'll just emulate, otherwise I prefer the actual hardware.
absolutely. sometimes it's even the only way to do it, because the emulator might have problems with some particular game or there is no good emulation for a particular system.
it's especially satisfying to just have, like, a Sega Genesis or Nintendo and just put the game in and have it fucking come on. i appreciate the fact that everything's gotten more complex, but consoles are supposed to be dedicated gaming machines, dammit; forget power and hardware when comparing them to PCs, i shouldn't have to deal with a fucking bullshit OS and a million million menus to play a damn game on a console.
my PC has all that stuff going on because it's a multimedia station, a PERSONAL COMPUTER for doing much, much more than gaming. but game consoles? i mean what the fuck.
