Why does everyone say 4 was better? 3 had much more content and level exploration
>>
Because it made me realize I fucking hate backtracking.
>>
>>322290180
The WL series as a whole is really well made.

I have a soft spot for II since it was my first 100%

I liked how 2&3 combined Platforming with a Puzzler without any of the frustration.
>>
>>322290528
It's not really backtracking its fun to explore a new part of the level you couldn't get to before
>>
>>322290180
Better music, better controls, better design, plus it looked amazing.
>>
>>322291674
Warioland 3 was probably the best looking GBC game,
>>
>>322290180
>don't start with the abilities you have in 2
>don't get all abilities until over halfway into the game
>pacing is all over the place, you will be jumping from level to level since areas need to be unlocked due to story reasons

It was good but could have been much better. The game is a lot better when you beat it and are able to do an individual level all at once with all powers unlocked. That's when the game imo becomes the best in the series.

Shame they didn't develop the game like that the whole way through from the start.
>>
>>322291842
Yeah. But the art of 4 still blows it out of the water.
>>
>>322291921
I kind of enjoyed not getting all the powers at the start, it made it more rewarding when you got a new one and you remember all the parts of levels you can now access

>my face when someone thinks the gameboy/gameboy advance wario lands are the best wario games ever made when they havent played virtual boy wario land near me

It's just a fight for second place because they pale in comparison to Virtual Boy Wario Land.
>>
2>3=4

By the slimmest of margins.
>>
>>322292205
Well not everyone is going to feel the same as you. I felt it was extremely retarded considering you had those abilities in part 2 from the start. Plus the levels shine so much better when you can do the individual level all at once if you want.

I truly feel if they ever made that game now rather then back then they would have done it the way I said instead since it is the more logical thing to do. Metroid lose your powers gimmick doesn't work for a platformer such as Wario.
>>
>>322292457

2 is my second favorite in the franchise simply because of how many fucking levels there are. Seriously? How many levels are there? 30?

Blew my fucking mind when I didn't wake up on the first level.
>>
>>322292274
Why would playing it near you make it better?
>>
How good is the one on wii? I really love how it looks but I've never gotten around to playing it.

I fucking love gameboy games with a day/night mechanic. The night music is always so cozy Except for Shantae. The night music totally misses the mark in that game

Virtual Boy Wario Land was the true peak of the series, imo.
All of the games are exceptional though. I wouldn't rate any Wario Land game less than an 8/10.
>>
>>322293132
Shake dimension? I remember getting it playing through a few levels and then dropped it, it didn't feel like wario at all but maybe I just didn't give it a chance
>>
>>322293132
Similar to but not quite as good as 4.
>>
>>322290180
3's level design wasn't that great due to the keys. There were times where the game where you're given two directions, and if you chose wrong, you'll reach the end and find the chest, and then have to go all the way back for the key and then go back to the chest again.

3 is more enjoyable if you look at it less as a normal platformer and more as a metroidvania.

I've played it on Virtual Boy before, but now I have to emulate, sadly.

It was the game that introduced me to wario.
100% it as a kid
Got Warioland 4 and it blew me out of the water.
It's sad to see wario as farting bike man instead of greedy treasure hunter.

VB Wario Land's resolution is larger than the 3DS's screen.

For real.

Took me months to figure it out

4's lifebar was way better. Also the timed level thing was nice.
>>
>>322294541
Warioware is good but I dislike how it completely overshadowed the warioland series

I loved 1, 2 and 3. I tried 4 years later and I didn't like it. Something about the stages just didn't feel right.
>>
>>322294780
Running out of health would similarly reset your progress.
There's not much meaningful difference.

>>
>>322294780
But 3 had a bunch of things where you had to get hurt in order to open up areas. Like catching on fire to break the fire blocks.

I don't remember much of 4 but it must have had less of this.

As a child this game gave me so much frustration and stress trying to solve some levels that my hair was turning white

I don't think I'm autistic or retarded but holy shit this game was rageworthy

I was like 9 or something

Don't know why people praise it. I think MGS fanboys are too...fanboyish for this series. MG2 SS was better than GB.

Metal Gear 2 is great, and better than most of the rest of the series, so...?

Anyway, kill yourself.

I played 4 well before 3 and despite at least 3-4 attempts at trying to play the game I never got into it much.

However 3 was absolutely fantastic and I was really surprised by its lengthy, quality and exploration. It's a completely different beast from your average platformer and I wholeheartedly recommend it if you like Metrdoivanias at all.
