It gradually gets harder over time. You hold boost a lot but if you dont know the level layout/best paths youre going to get hit/get a bad time. Its like all sonics m8, theres a learning curve

Yes I know, it's not as fast. Except that on a modern PC, it is. It has no frame limiter of any kind. Last time I tried it was ~10 years ago and even then I would hit walls so far away that I could not see them from the starting line less than a tenth of a second into the race.

Side note: That game is the reason Twisted Metal is called Twisted Metal. It was originally called High Octane before they realized there was already a game with that name. The FMV endings that were cut from the game even have Calypso talking about his "High Octane competition" because they were made before the title change.
