Because it's similar to MonHun and I always liked that series but I am a casual scrub and can't actually play it becausw I am so bad at it. Seriously put in 20 hours couldnt get past the first serious monster hunt .

I'd assume it is doable. The class does have some methods of attack that can do some moderate damage, but you can also take 3 monsters to fight with you in single player. So not only can you use attack spells but also heal and buff your monster slaves.

There's a dualclassing system in the game as well, where you can mix and match abilities from other jobs. So I bet you could bring along black magic or something to help with offense if needed.

As far as I know you can use any magic you want with any class, it'll just cost more MP if you use a spell that class doesn't learn naturally.
