What do I need to get to make a god tier gaming PC? I'm not concerned with price btw.
>>
The "god tier gaming PC" thing is a myth, just get a 500€ rig and you can play practically any game on the highest settings

You should also get a good mouse, a gamepad, keyboard, some headphones ( not a headset) and good chair
>>
A gaming laptop

you'll have to upgrade soon if you were to get that, unless you don't mind playing in medium or lower

>just get a 500€ rig and you can play practically any game
True
>on the highest settings
Not so true.

If you really want to play most games at 60 fps with no drops at the highest settings, invest in a good processor, good GPU, and at least 8 gigs of RAM (no need to go higher unless there's some kind of "buy this much, get one stick free" deal going on like I got.)

I'd recommend Intel and Nvidia, but truth be told, AMD usually works just as well in most cases, but with the way they handle drivers, you might have drops for a little while at launch (I still can't get Fallout 4 to maintain even a stable 30fps, though I don't know how well Nvidia users have it, tbqh.)

If you are planning to SLI/Crossfire without a multi-monitor setup, then you should kill yourself for being so stupid.
>>
>>322138924
$500-$600 rig isn't going to get you very far. You're going to have to cut some corners somewhere and either end up with a solid build that plays on medium settings or shit build that literally blows up after 2 months.

$1200, excluding peripherals, if you want something sturdy that can max games out for a little while.

Again, are you from 2005
>>
>>322141185
There's nothing wrong with DDR3.
DDR4 is a meme at this point.
Same as m-muh Skylake.

Haswell + DDR3 + Maxwell is enough

How long would this last for playing 1440p?

Could it play VR

I'm fine with medium setings but I don't really like modern AAA games.
I'm only using it as an emulator/weeb/4chan machine.

I still don't know which peripherals I should get.

Not worth it unless you run a 4k monitor like me. I get 55-60fps at high to ultra settings on 4k.

That deppends, unless you plan to play at 4K/60fps or 1440p/120fps there's no reason to buy a second one

Yeah, probably, but that would deppend on SLI support which I guess is good nowadays

$259.99 at its launch - Just $10 different from the original one.

Thanks Anon, I've noticed that more and more modern games are supporting SLI day one.
Old games don't need more than one GPU anyway, so I think I will get it the moment my FPS starts dropping below 90FPS on unlocked games.

I love my GTX980Ti, worth every fucking penny.

you wont even be able to run new AAA games at low settings over 30 fps.
>>
>>322149109

I thought as much. Tomorrow I should get tracking info then I hope.
>>
Apparently a 950 will get you 60 fps at 1080p for last gen games. A 970 will get you a solid framerate on current gen.

1440p will need 980 ti or nvidia's pascal range of cards releasing this year in order to get a high frame rate. Gaming at 4k is years away.

If you don't care about budget get a g-sync / freesync monitor, or an IPS monitor, or both.

You don't need to go overkill on a processor for gaming. Save money on an i5 over an i7 unless you need faster video / image rendering.

Intel processors beat AMD for emulating ps2 and wii. I don't know why.
