Yes. It's not amazing, but it's the last decent/good thing Bioware made.

There are quite some mods for it, check the Nexus page, but I recommend not using any the first time. Or stick to shit like add an extra party slot for the dog companion (because you probably won't ever use it otherwise), a respec mod etc. There are some mods which restore cut content so if that's your thing go for them, they probably have a list on the general somewhere.

Don't use any of the "skip X" mods, I think there are 2 of them for parts of the game I won't mention. Go through them at least once, some people hate them other love them.

it was good, but origin stories had a lot of missed potential. also, dwarf noble is best origin. i wish there was an entire game based on dragon age dwarf society

Story is generic but characters are great.
Combat is standard MMO fare but it can get pretty dicey.
You actually kinda have to think about how you interact with your companions or what choices you make around them or else they might leave or try to stab you, which is nice.
DLC should have been implemented more naturally into the game. If you want to do the other DLC like Awakening, Witch Hunt, etc. you have to start a new campaign rather than just going through the game.

The problem as I recall was that if you were nice to him even once in that conversation he starts flirting with you. Then the only way to turn him down was by getting some bad-boy points.

You had to cut off the conversation immediately, which sounded dickish but was the nicest non-faggot option.

Some advice:
Max persuasion on your character ASAP.

Thoroughly explore the starting town after Ostagar.

Make an Arcane Warrior, at least one playthrough. Just to appreciate it.
