Currently playing Majoras Mask on 3DS and loving it. Fucking love me some Zelda, and this is my first play through. Just collected the 7 Zora eggs and am about to go to some Water Palace.
Also playing SMT: Nocturne - wouldn't exactly say it is comfy but finding demons to fuse is fun as hell.
I'm playing Sunless Sea. It's pretty comfy, although two of my captains have died already
Just cuisin' around in DCS. I love to just climb to altitude, then set autopilot and just soak up the visuals.

I guess the closest comparison would be the word "fun". Although Comfy usuaaallllyyyy means lower stress games, like you said, but it really depends on who you ask.
Another thing is that, games like Stalker have a lot of moments where you're sitting around the campfire, taking in a moment, and the intensity of the rest of the game kind of makes that a nice comfy intermission.
A couple of my favorite "comfy" games are Alan Wake and the original Diablo, both horror-themed games, but have moments of quietness and atmosphere that make me feel a kind of comfy cozy way.
Nostalgia has a lot to do with it, too
