Since Kiryu had to leave in the middle of the fighting, that meant that Akiyama, a civilian with smoker lungs and no back tattoo which automatically makes you a beast if you're an important character, had to hold off like 300 more trained yakuza(not those shitty Tojo jobbers) by himself. Watase bowed to him cause of that and he'd probably kick the ass of the guy who didn't follow him

Does the difficulty selection at the start of the game even affect the rhythm game? You choose a difficulty every time you select a song. You can blast through her chapter in like 5 minutes, anyway, and you don't even need to win the princess league.

koi koi is easy to play you basically match 5 in a group to get points and 10 in junk there are specialty groups which net big points like all same color tags or animals groups. Just play it for an hour and you should figure it out. To play it properly you want to prevent the opponent from getting any major hand

To be fair, Ishin is very Japanese, even more so than the mainline games and I really shouldn't expect for them to cater to my tastes in a game that will more than likely never be released in the west. So I have no one to blame but myself if there is something that doesn't appeal to me.

I'm using that khhsubs guide and I'm still having a ton of fun.
Anyone that has played a Yakuza game before should be able to understand the gameplay and systems in Ishin easily. Almost everything in Ishin is very convenient and straightforward and what isn't can be learned after some slight trial and error.
The guide even does a good job at explaining what's going on in the main story and substories.
Though I do understand that not everyone wants to play using a guide, but it may be the only way unfortunately. I just don't see this game ever being brought over.

What the fuck with colliseum this time? It's fucking HARD. I just met some karate fucker in the beginner tournament. He had a lot of health and used some annoying superarmor unblockable move. I tried 3 stars and only was able to finish it by cheesing knockdowned enemies with Akiyama's triangle.
I believe Saejima will wreck everybody there since he has Herculean Spirit but holy shit, playing as Akiyama is painfull.
Also, one question about Premium Adventure. What the hell is it exactly? Should I finish everything in final chapter or can I finish the game and continue doing my subquests and tournaments in premium adventure? Or I'll lose some progress?

It's all optional though, don't worry. The side stories are all pretty straightforward. I mean there is one where you have to grow 10 tomatoes, but the farming is retardedly easy and takes almost no effort. You just need to unlock the ability to plant tomatoes using your Dharma points, plant them and then wait till they grow so that you can give them to the person.
Gambling is only if you want to unlock one of the best guns in the game, but there are other really good alternatives to it. You can also play poker or gamble on chicken racing if you don't want to bother with the other games.
None of this is required to clear the story outside of the farming tutorial, which is super easy.

Yakuza 1 is usually cheap since they printed a fuckload of them.
Yakuza 2 is harder to come by since it's a much more limited release(A used copy can go for as much as 100 dollarydoos)
Your best bet is emulating and buying a PS3(if you don't already own one)
3 is the only game not available digitally, but the rest are on the PSN store for about 30-40 a pop.

Oh yeah, I should also add that for the tomatoe substory you also need to upgrade your field once using your dharma points or it wont give you the option to plant tomatoes since those crops require more space.
Getting Dharma points is really easy though, you get them for things such as running a certain distance, winning a certain number of fights, eating at restaurants, etc. You can exchange them for certain abilities using the big shrines that are scattered around. The guide should show you all the things you can buy with them.
