Really, the only competition are the first two DKC games, and I'd say 2 edges Tropical Freeze out overall. Nintendo games do overall have great soundtracks to go with the games, but taken out of that context, the songs don't usually stand on their own (at least not with as much consistency as the DKC soundtracks).
That said, I'll throw Kirby 64 into the mix as at least a contender. Really, most Kirby games have fantastic music though.

Personally, Kirby 64 is my favorite Nintendo and overall favorite vidya OST ever.
I remember only paying attention to the remixes the first time I went through the soundtrack then moving towards the new tracks the more I listened to them.
