Is Morrowind's combat really that bad?
It's not, neo-/v/ is just too retarded to realize what fatigue does and what diceroll is.
>>322006148
No, it's just not intuitive at first. Your build plays a very strong role right from the beginning of the game, but sincerely, it's just when your character is new that things are really punishing.
>>322006148
Nicolas Cage would nail the uncanny valley of Oblivion's NPCs.
>>322006148
Yes but not in the way everyone thinks it is. Its shit in the same way all of the elder scrolls has always had shit combat, morrowinds combat was at least better as it better served an rpg, though even then it feels like they put it on the back burner 'til Bethesda realized how to make decent combat, but that day never came.
>>322007157
It should be a one man movie, with Nic Cage playing everyone in it.

Combat in ANY Bethesda game except maybe Fallout 4 has always been shit.
I was weirded out at first why i kept missing but after figuring out that it's stat based, no, i don't really think so. Kinda like turn-based games except turns are simultaneous, super fast and you can run around.

No. It's an RPG no action-RPG.
The people who complain about the combat are just too stupid to grasp this simple idea.
>>322006148
It's not the combat that is bad. The game is made by a larper and it shows all the time.
>>322006148
It's the worst.
Probably the worst combat in any mainstream game.
It held over too many things from old sprite-based, FPS dungeon crawlers while adopting 3D space and implementing its ultra-shitty fatigue system. Until you get your agility up to 90 and enchant yourself a cloak of constantly regenerating fatigue, the combat simply sucks. It's a fucking burden. Think about that. The worst part of Morrowind is the combat. Morrowind. A game where most of the gameplay is walking around a huge, hostile, ugly landscape where everything makes you sick. It's miserable.
>>322006148
It's average desu.
>>322010367
daggerfall combat was miles better
>>322006148
It's the best in the TES series.
Morrowinds combat is pure RPG.
The only people who complain about Morrowind's combat system are literal retards and the game is too hard for them to understand.
>>322006148
Yes, because lack of difficulty scaling means that anyone with a semi-competent build will never be at risk of losing after level 16. The only other threat in the game is disease, which you gain immunity to as part of the main quest. After that, you'll just be one-hitting wild animals and ash zombies the rest of the game because you never encounter anything more challenging than that.
>>322011005
Morrowind is just a dumbed down version of Daggerfall anyway.
>>322006148
No if you realise that it's a CRPG.
>>322011204
people who like hitting opponent and getting no damage are literal retards
>>322011351
100% true
archers don't even need to care about disease
>>322006148
The combat is perfect, but what fucking sucks is the scaling
At first you get rekt by everything, then it switches to you reking everything around you, no point in between
>>322011604
Lol typical retard
>has 0 fatigue and expects to deal damage
>has 0 skill in the weapon he's using and expects to deal damage
>uses a shitty dagger on a high armored enemy and expects to deal damage
Skyrim is that way my friend >>>>>>>>>>
>>322011204
>It's the best in the TES series.
But not really. Morrowind is my favorite game in the series, but the combat wasn't better than Skyrim's. Better than Oblivion's by far tho.
Apart from the random dice roll, no.
I actually really liked the slash/downswing/stab system that worked with the mouse depending on how you moved it. I wish they used it for Skyrim, would have made that game 10x better.
>>322011750
You are too dumb to realise that actual dmg LITERALLY scales the same with skill in all TES games and call other retard. Typical morrocretin

>>322012078
You are too dumb to realize that because morrowind's combat is harder than other games it doesn't mean it's worse.
If you have a shitty dagger and 0 skills in daggers and attack a guy with armor who has 100 skill in armor, It would be super fucking obvious that you wont deal any damage
And skyrim for some reason lets you do damage to him
>>322012494
IT'S LITERALLY THE SAME IN ALL TES GAMES YOU RETARD
YOU DEAL (X*SKILL) DAMAGE IN ALL TES GAMES EXCEPT YOU ONLY GET RETARDED MISSED SWINGS IN MORROWIND
TOTAL DAMAGE PER N SWINGS IS THE SAME IN ALL TES GAMES
>>322006309
TRAITOR in this thread.
I remember morrowind and oblivion felt so real and alive when I was younger, I was engulfed by the world and it was as though the people were real.
now it just feels shallow and I feel alone, like I can see the very code with which the NPCs were written. Just feels like a dead cardboard world with props lying around :(
I can't enjoy anything anymore

trick question
the combat in every elder scrolls game is bad
Morrowind has the best vanilla combat. Vanilla oblivion and skyrim combat is mindless spamming of attacks and spells. Morrowind you actually have to think about your attacks and spells carefully.
>>322016916
> Think about your attacks and spells carefully

Lol. Right.
