It feels more like a general "you're gonna get your shit pushed the fuck in" theme. Big boss theme in the Earthbound hack, played in a flash where people get ducked by Bec Noir in HS, and plays during the fight most likely to beat the player down in the game.

Like many aspects of Splatoon, the soundtrack largely tryhard tween shit without much in the way of staying power. Its main purpose is to endear the player to it with its quirky, offbeat but still very much safe tone and stylings. It's working wonders for now but people will likely forget about the game's soundtrack in a year's time.
