When sales came out stupid people told me that those who were claiming Pokemon death were just being Ironic, I'm glad for this thread because when the next mainline comes aout and anally destroy this thisbecause it willI'll shitpost every chance I got with the numbers.
I don't know about the other games, but the first one is pretty terrible. Its focus is so heavy on just rotating things out of a fight that even during tough boss encounters, it feels like you have zero agency.
And bosses are huge spikes in difficulty mainly due to having way too much health and possibly one-shotting you. A lot of grinding is required.
It's just not a very fun game, and most of that comes down to it lacking real mechanics and not having any real control over the utility of attacks.

I think a lot of the reason why Pokemon is getting its shit pushed in is because people are just sick of Pokemon. The idea of catching, training and personalizingsexymonsters is appealing, but GameFreak have no idea what they're doing, never have, and no one else really tries to make them in that format. YW isn't a particularly good series, but they at least are doing something new, with a little more personality, despite its flaws.
I imagine if someone released a legitimately good game in the genre, it'd put both of them in their graves.
