I don't really know why they bother putting so much effort into these arcade games, when only Japan and maybe other parts of asia are going to be able to play
>>
>>321933317
I played both GS1 and 2 in Japan OP and I can say its insanely overrated. I was expecting S4 league tier acrobatics and fast gun play, but it was just kind of a clunky mess. The gun transformations were a neat idea but it was a pretty lackluster experience over all. Feel like it would work infinitely better with a mouse and keyboard.

But yeah for some reason their arcades are loaded with arena shooters/fighters over there.
>>
>>321933828
Well they're making games for themselves mostly. Is it so weird?
>>
>>321934314
I wish they'd at least make it onto steam though, what gives anyways? Why don't they ever port most of these games?
>>

>>
>>321934635
If I'm not mistaken it WAS supposed to get a pc release at some point but I think the idea got canned. Anyway I think the selling point was the silly shit you could do with the guns. Which like I said was pretty cool, but just felt awkward in every other regard.

Feels good man

I just wish they had some old cave shmups or something, there's an entire candy cab section but it's almost all fighters
>>
>>321935267
I really wish there was an actually good arcade in my state, but most arcades are filled with Raw thrills bullshit, Shit crane games, and other stuff that lays in a state of perpetual disrepair

Also

My other local arcade that isn't the chain also sells used games and does tournaments and MTG events. It feel like that's the only reason they're able to stay open, I don't think mom & pop arcades are really profitable anymore unless they focus purely on redemption.

It's quite sad, really

but those two games aren't worth two separate systems for me, so I'll stick with my Piss4 / Vita.

It really sucks how Arcades are essentially dead in the west, since everyone would rather just sit at home playing games with strangers on the internet than play games with strangers right next to them. I really do wish to have the arcade experience again and actually play with a bunch of random strangers on something like Daytona or better yet, Initial D 8. It's always nice to play with and against other people when they're in the same room with you and all you have to do is insert money into a machine.

Too bad any Arcade I find has games that are shit for competition and are flooded with random children.

While on the subject of Konami games, I remember them testing this shit in a west Nyack Dave and Busters back in 2014, it was the best experience of my life, and it was even English subbed.

I loved it so much, I mailed Konami about it, and they sent me a letter saying "Thanks for your feedback on Yu-Gi-Oh"... And then they drank the kool aid and any hope of this game getting a full on western release is ruined

Fuck you Konami, I'm never trusting you again

>>
>>321938335
They don't block foreign IPs fucktard. They're a paid service with a bunch of legal bullshit to get through to bring them outside Japan. Round 1 are the only ones who bothered to go through the hoops.

You really think it's more likely they broke the encryption to arcade cabs that are always online and require importing from Japan? They don't even have all the games because they can't license them. You're just jealous that some people can play games you can't.

>You really think it's more likely they broke the encryption to arcade cabs that are always online and require importing from Japan?
no, i think it's more likely they just put up a proxy in a building they owned in japan and put all the internet in their american building through that proxy
>You're just jealous that some people can play games you can't
nah, all the series i care about get console ports so i don't give a shit
>>
>>321939196
They'd get sued into oblivion if that were the case. Japan knows we have Nesica cabs now.

It really needs to be on Steam, Square already has a presence so it's a no brainer

All I can think of is to make a petition or something in order to raise awareness, or just make "This game is only available in japan, and you're just missing the fuck out" images until people complain to square
>>
>>321933317

I tried that at the arcades when I went to Tokyo last May. I was surprised at how well it played, thought it would be kind of convoluted with the control scheme.

I had a lot more fun running around in a Gundam though

It still hurts that we will never have pod mech games
>>
I can't help feeling mouse controls would make aiming in Gunslinger Stratos too easy. Part of the difficulty was the physicality of aiming, like with Time Crisis and so on, otherwise it's a point and kill simulator.
>>
>>321944636

They are extremely fun to play.

You can play for cheap at the Taito Arcade Station in Shinjuku, if you ever go to Tokyo.
>>
>>321944636the pod mech games are glorified 5 dollar a round tps. If you are looking for authentic mobile suit combat be prepared for disappointment
