I would love to see Battlefield go back to '42 with destructible buildings and landscape, for mortar and artillery craters formed during combat, and with proper vehicle damage and destruction.
Pretty much Bad Company 2 except WW2, more destruction, and better vehicle damage and destruction.
Well, Wolfenstein had the right idea with alternate history. Prolong the war so technology can advance further into a dieselpunk kind of era, but you can still kill a shitton of Nazis.
It's a shame they were on the way out when technology got good enough to render battles better.
