The gameplay is one of the best I've ever tried. Think war of the roses, but with more maneuverability and more combat options. There's a reason people are still making multiplayer clans for these games.
It's also the only Star Wars game that got Force Powers right. You can get creative with them, like choking an enemy into the air and then throw your lightsaber at him, or choke and electrocute and watch him fly Mace Windu style, or choke and force push (or just drag your mouse) to throw them off ledges and into walls. Pretty much one of the best SW games out there, and is still a shitload of fun if you hate SW.

This is the worst problem of JK:O, it has some of the worst level designs I have ever seen in a video game. After Nar Shadaa and when you meet Lando you'll have to get ready to alt tab some walkthroughs assuming the old windows colors the game is set to doesn't break your computer. Then you get to the instant death traps you don't or wouldn't expect to do 100% damage.

The only stealth part was the very beginning of that level with the searchlights and even then all getting caught does is make you have to fight a few more troopers that run out of the tower. Not bullshit in the slightest.

So how many of y'all played the multiplayer of Jedi Academy? Did any of you join any roleplaying clans, or was it saber fighting (FFA) only?
Personally, I was in a roleplaying clan called CF which had progression ranks for its members (initiate, padawan, knight, master, council master) and story "missions" each weekend - hosted by the clan leaders. Pic related. Shit was so fucking cash. I've never been able to replicate that feel in any game since.

As people have said, Outcast has a better story, but Academy has better level design. Academy has a good variety of level types and environments, like being on top of a speeding vehicle in Coruscent, or fleeing a Rancor until you set pieces in motion to trap and kill it, playing the floor-is-lava with sandworms, speedbike racing/fighting, etc. As well as general 'go around level and murder everything until you find the means of progression'
Although my personal favourite is the Corriban underground temple level.

I heard all sorts of praise for the DB trilogy and when I read it I was immensely disappointed by how fucking shallow it was in everything.
There were a few good moments, mostly from Zannah's perspective, like her trying to take that Dark Jedi as her apprentice.

Yeah, I was fairly disappointed as well. I'd still hold it miles above Anakin's development in the prequels, but there's still a lot of ground that could be made to make a proper transition.
