The developer released three rather robust patches post launch, that more than doubled the content of the base game, at no cost. The game consistently goes on sale for dirt cheap.

Starbound is a shit game by an egotistical retard who couldn't hack it at Re-Logic. It should be left to rot and anything decent from it should be cannibalized for the good of the genre. Even if the entire (sub)genre right now is Terraria, T: Otherworld, and Terraria 2.
