I've never understood people who complain about the jumping in Souls. Uses for jumping include getting over very obviously jumpable gaps with plenty of runway or getting into useless niche spots, sometimes an unintended shortcut.
It's exactly as accessible as it needs to be. You're not playing a platformer.
