Try do a google on Xbox. You'd barely get a few OG Xbox here and there,and more Xbox One and 360 pictures.

Have you removed the clock cap? I know it can leak and cause the Xbox to turn on randomly,or sometimes as soon as you plug the power cable.

I don't anymore but I used to own 3.
One for parts, one for LIVE and one modded. I ran Cat5 to my modded one and I could mount ISOs so I didn't have to burn discs...which also really cut down on load times.
All in all I liked my PS2 better, but the Xbox was fun to tinker with and had some solid exclusives.

I have a CAT5 cable on mine to FTP games and other stuff (such as Linux,PBL etc.) but I plan on upgrading to CAT6. (because I have a gigabit ethernet NIC on my PC,this may be faster (or not,not a biggie) for it to download any big file)

I mostly streamed from my PC, movies and games and stuff....it was all networked. All I had to worry about was my PC hard drive, not my Xbox hard drive.
The Xbox HUEG would still be a solid HTPC if it was capable of HD, which is most certainly is not.

I know there's a guy named trusty on the Xbox forums that sells 1.4GHz/128MB boards. You might want to check his work and prices.
However,I have no problem in streaming a Mad Max:Fury Road HD rip on my Xbox through XBMC. Apart from the modded BIOS (X2 5035 in place of the stock MS BIOS) and removed clock cap,my board has the stock 64MB RAM and 733MHz Celeron.
