Bought this on steam couple of days ago.
Game's pretty fun but I'm fucking STRUGGLING.
Only unlocked enforcer and bandit and a couple of artifacts, but now I've hit a fucking wall and dont know what to do.
The furthest I've been was lvl6 on drizzle abusing the enforcer in a corner.
Any tips?
try not being shit and you should be fine
Jump around a lot to avoid being hit, finish levels quickly so you don't get destroyed by the rising difficulty level. That's about it.
Your supposed to actually try to finish it.
Also, enforcer is trash
Best class at start is the default one.
If you let a zone go up by two difficulties, you already did it wrong

The problem I'm running into is if I stay on a level and open chests - I waste time, and if I just go for the portal - I get destroyed in later levels because I got no items.

Ok, so here is the key to beating the game:
1. Run around, searching for the teleporter.
AVOID EVERYTHING. Literally, just avoid everything, worry about killing enemies later.
2. Activate teleporter and continue searching the lever. Open every chest you see and while the teleporter is charging, kill the enemies that hinder your exploration.
3. After the timer is up.... kill everything ASAP and get to next level.
Rinse and repeat until victory.
The starting class is probably the best bet in most cases, as the dodge is really useful.

Pick commando. First job is going to the teleporter and activating it. Going for smallfry that spawn before that is useless, only shoot a few to get to level 2.
Try for the first few stages to clear them in 5 minutes. On normal that is pretty viable. I would recommend running around to open boxes even after the teleporter is ready, but not if they are at the other side of the map. Also bigchest>2 small chest.
