i didn't buy it for gaming, at the time i only had $500 and my other laptop was broken. i just bough the cheapest thing that could play most 2012-sh or earlier releases fine.
im just hoping to get another couple years out of it.
prop it up with two large books or a stand so that is has space underneath for air to flow underneath it. pic related. If you do this it won't overheat as much, but it won't completely remove the problem. The best bet is to buy a desktop

I rememeber playing sleeping dogs on a laptop once. I put bags of ice from the freezer on it. It worked but is not good long term due to condensation and shit.
Room fan directed at the laptop will also help but your hands will go stiff after a while if they are in it's wind.
