I like it, but the touchpad, share button and backlight are all useless.
size is perfect
>>
>>321839257
>useless trackpad
>light on the back
>shit build quality
>rubber on analog sticks comes off after a week
>trigger buttons break constantly
>battery life is miserable, people recommend turning off rumble, dimming the backlight, turning off sound and turning off controller when not in use
>elevated d-pad for some reason
>made face buttons smaller for some reason
It's miles ahead of DS3 in comfort, but damn they fucked up.
>>
>>321839257
I don't know why but I have constant input lag/choppy audio from this thing it sucks there is no readily available solution resetting the controller didn't work rebuilding the database didn't work I have no interference in my house as my roommates ps4 is just in the other room and he never has problems I exchanged for new one didn't work exchanged again for a 20th anniversary still doesn't work controller is fucking bullshit desu senpai. And of course sony spends so much money on viral marketing and SEO that you can never find people discussing the lack of a solution only hackneyed "solutions".
>>
Fucking great dont listen to these fucking nerds
>>
>>321839257

love it not even trolling

it has its issues but it is the best controller ever made
>>
>>321839257
only real issue is battery life

touchpad and share button might seem stupid but when you go to the Xbox One and have to press a series of buttons to take a screenshot that interrupts your gameplay, you realize just how stupid Microsoft was by putting all of their eggs in the kinect basket
>>
It's great

renaming the start and select button was retarded though, but doesn't really functionally change them

Sony shitting up the perfect controller by the third time in a row.

Everything new is proof of how retarded the audience is, and they can't even do it right. They should leave the gimmicks to Nintendo.

>Share button.
>>
Dual shock controllers are uncomfortable, terrible quality, flimsy shit bricks

The same could be said for the wobbleststion
>>
>>321839257
Amazing. I use it for everything. my ipod, android, pc, laptop, fuckin everything
>>
>>321839257
The rubber on the joysticks is too cheap. I've already worn through my left joystick.
>>
I stuck xbone sticks on mine. I added a bigger battery. I added a sticker to the light so it only lets out some light.

What could it use? Force feedback triggers.

Otherwise I use it for PC almost exclusively. It's up there with the xbone controller.

I actually like she Share button. Don't get me wrong, the social media uses can go fuck themselves, but I do like to upload private videos of stuff like my first successful boss kills in games like Bloodborne, for commemoration and holding onto them as keepsakes. It's nice to look back on that sort of thing after a while.

Conversely, the touch pad can go fuck itself. That thing always feels awkward and normally amounts to developers using it as two extra menu/ inventory buttons. It's the problem the Wii U's gamepad has, where no developers really give a shit about it, and at best you'll be told to put your finger on it and hold for a second as a game's special snowflakey way of opening doors. Looking at you, InFamous.
>>
>>321840364
>share button is a gimmick
If you owned an Xbox One you'd realize how great a dedicated capture button is

>press xbox button 2 times and then hit Y to save a screenshot, meanwhile interrupting your game by pausing it and opening the dashboard
or
>press a single button, bam screenshot taken
>>
>>321839257
It's pretty awesome as a PC controller, DS4Tool lets you use the touchpad as mouse so I use it to browse on the couch . Its more comfortable than a 360 and with the mentioned tool you emulate it as a 360 so its compatible with all games. With a blutooth reciever it can be wireless with pc too. The sticks rubbed out a bit after 5 months of moderate use but I repalced them for 9 bucks with ease. Not even a PSfag but I give it thumbs up.

Best, definitive controller. It's like holding air. My friend sweats balls when he plays turn based rpgs and floods the earth playing anything action. I let him play Bloodborne for 20 minutes and there wasn't stain to be seen or a smidge of moisture.
>>
>>321839395

It works surprisingly well. start button is more of a pause button anyway so options makes more sense. The touch screen is a waste though it is basically just left and right buttons.
>>
It's the greatest dualshock controller

It needs:
>improved battery life
>pressure sensitivity
>PSVita's dpad

It would be god-tier if it had those
I'd also like to see an "elite" version of the controller similar to what Microsoft did with their xbone controller
I still prefer the xbone controller
>>
>>321840886
Forgot to mention if you play any fighting games especially mortal kombat having a functional d-pad is really helpful
>>
>>321839395
>select replaced with Share
Not really, select was moved into the touch pad.
Left select and right select.

>>321839257
its better than DS3 but i find the analog sticks to be small, playing GG Xrd on those is suffering.
>>
>>321839257
the select and start buttons are TOO CLOSE to the dpad and face buttons. im almost thinking about modding them to make them lower so they can't be as easily touched.

also the giant fucking touchpad button was unneeded, and i haven't used it in anything
>>
>>321840816
I use Xbone controller for Pc and almost nothing is using Force Triggers. First time I played a game that supports it, I though my controller was busted, because rumble was too weak, I only realised triggers give a feedback after a while, I always pushed trigger all the way and at that point there is not resistance at all, pushing them slowly is a different experience, trigger vibrates and resists the pressure.
Fun thing, but nothing is using it.
I think my controller is busted though.
>>
>>321839257
Sticking to a shitty design for about two decades now.

Really sony in a nutshell
>>
>>321841148
no Xbox controller ever had pressure sensitive face buttons and nothing aside from Gran Turismo ever utilized the feature on PS2/PS3

agree with the battery life and d-pad though, I'd consider paying $100 for an "elite" DS4
>>
It's really good, but the utter shit-tier battery life keeps it from being great.
>>
>>321839257
It's good. It's a tremendous improvement over the old ones, but I still prefer an xbone/360 controller.
>>
I like it
>>
>>321841401
I own an Xbone and a lot of games don't use the rumble triggers. None of the games on the Master Chief Collection seem to support it and I don't recall Gears Ultimate or Sunset Overdrive supporting it.

I'm actually not a fan because the few times it pops up, it feels strange and out of place.
>>
>>321839257
Dpad is shit compared to the ps3 controller
>>
>>321839806
My thoughts exactly, although I haven't run into the same quality control issues yet.

The battery is infuriating though. Why the hell does thing seem to die within hours? It's got a worse battery life than the original Gameboy.
>>
>>321839257

Aside from the useless touchpad and light hogging the battery (not a big deal since I play wired) it's my favorite controller. The Xbone controller is okay but the bumpers are a bit too close to the center for my taste.
>>
>>321841717
>Why the hell does thing seem to die within hours?
Battery capacity is tiny, only 800mAh

In my Xbone controller I use Panasonic Eneloop Pros and they're rated at 2500mAh a piece.

>>321841542
I get what you're saying, but I kinda like it. There is a spell in that game that has a timing aspect to it and trigger starts vibrating slowly and gets more intense when you get closer to the right timing. I don't use it, 'cause I found visual and feedback quest broken, timing it by sound allows me to release the spell few milliseconds faster.
It might be a godsend for driving games. But if no games are using it, it feels really strange when they do.
>>
Analogs are shit. No one has done analogs right besides the 360 pad the Xbone analogs are okay but tinier for no good reason and the bumpers are definitely worse and feel like they take too much more to press in.

360 pad > DS4 = Xbone > Wii Pro pad

Unless you're really into using the dpad. But they you might as well just get a hori commander 4 or w.e
>>
>>321842032
Xbone still uses AAs? Weird. Did it come with a rechargeable pack? How much charge is on it?

I've gotten really spoiled by the WiiU pro controller which lasts like a month.
>>
>>321839257
name a game that actually utilizes the touchpad.
(can't be ps store indie shit)
>>
>>321842270
DMC4SE uses it for taunts.
>>
>>321842261
rechargeable pack is and extra, which is bullshit, it's rated 1400mah as far as I know, but Xbone doesn't have all these bells and whistles DS4 have, so it lasts much longer.
>>
>>321842261
Yes it uses AAs
No, it does not come with a rechargeable pack, Microsoft still tries to jew customers out of an additional $20 for their unreliable piece of shit
Battery life is garbage, only maybe 2-3x as good as the dual shock 4.

I use Panasonic Eneloop Pros however and they last much longer than Micorsoft's piece of shit charge kit. A friend of mine bought one and he has to charge at least twice as often as I do.
>>
>>321842495
>it's rated 1400mah
jesus christ Microsoft get it together, regular eneloops are 2000mAh a piece, pros are 2500

Seriously do not buy the play and charge kit ever, it'll stop working after 2 years if it's like the 360 version.
>>
>>321841429
MGS games used it too, and a few others according to google. Not that big a deal, but it'd still be nice to have ideally.
>>
Its really fucked up how one improved and the other got alot worse. DS4 is the best pad Sony has ever made outside of the release versions with shitty analog plastic. But XBone fucked with the perfect pad and improved the dpad alittle bit and downgraded everything else.

Xbox 360 pad with xbone/DS4 dpad would be the perfect pad.
>>
>Lightbar
>Touchpad

These are two big stains on an otherwise good controller. They're pretty much useless. Anything on a controller that's useless is also getting in the way, whether it replaces something that could be of actual use, or drains battery life.
>>
>>321839257
It's the most comfy controller I've ever used.
The only drawback is the incredibly shitty battery and the ever shining LED that cannot be turned off SINCE ITS SOLDERED INTO THE FUCKING CIRCUIT BOARD!
FIx that shit, Sony.
I was playing Yakuza 5 for 10 hours straight with a Dualshock 3 before I needed to recharge.
Are there any 3rd party batteries with a better capacity out there yet?
The DS3 could be upgraded(I put a battery in my Sixaxis that makes it last for nearly 24 hours.)
>>
Go fuck yourselves, holy shit. Share button is F12 for PS4. You don't have to upload your shit anywhere.
>>
>>321842439
should have gone without saying but uses the touchpad for something beyond a regular old button could have done.
>>
>>321842260
>360 pad
Rank the DS3 as well while you're at it.
>>
>>321843261
I don't like DS2/3 analogs at all for most genres and i prefer the new dpad/semi triggers the DS4 has. I guess id put the DS2/3 above the Wii U pro pad.

You don't have a choice on Xbox One, your screenshots are automatically uploaded and you can't even record footage without an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Tons of people take screenshots, get over it.
>>
>>321843832
The blast barely does any damage either, so I don't know why it keeps happening.
>>
>>321843747
As someone who has used the PS3 controller for nearly a decade, I have to say that you're full of bullshit.
The only drawbacks of the DS4 are:
>Battery life
>dumb gimmick light
The share-button is extremely useful for shitposting and proving faggots wrong. You must have some Yakuza-like hands if you accidentally hit it.
It's extremely comfy compared to the DS3 and miles ahead of "WE SPENT 100 MILLION DOLLARS ON R&D" Xbone controller.
>>
>>321843995
>your screenshots are automatically uploaded and you can't even record footage without an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
I find it hilarious that Xboner jerk-off threads never mention this.
