I can beat the whole game with 1 or 2 continues. It's not a problem of dying, it's a problem of it being tedious. It moves faster than the player, it only has one tiny point where you can damage it, and its attack patterns force you to waste even more time dodging overly long attacks.

They give you the Chaser for so many other bosses/sections, I can't believe they didn't have POWs drop them on this one.

I'd argue that Kirby Triple Deluxe has the worst-designed bosses in the entire series (except for its final bosses), because all of them involve just a lot of standing around, lazily dodging attacks, and waiting for that one tiny moment where you can get in one little hit and the whole process starts over again.

I don't have time or patience to post all of them, so here's a particularly heinous example: Pyribbit (both regular and EX forms apply).

Not sure if it's necessarily bad level/enemy design, but in Bloodborne I just encountered unseen village I think after killing amygdalla and the Rom.

Constant enemy response from the freaking bell ringing bitches, was easily the most frustrating thing I came across in the game so far.

it's kind of tricky at first. Most people who do that trick vomit once, go for the antidote, and then spam grenades. That's how I did it.

But if you manage to stay a zombie you don't have to deal with the boss's second phase which isn't AS annoying but it still feels so satisfying puking on it four times instead of dealing with it's monoliths.

When I was a kid me and my friends gathered ar the local drugstore (I'm from mexico) to compete in long ass sessions to see how far we could get by just one coin, that includes getting everything and using melee attacks as much as possible.

This guys were not that bad if you get there as a zombie and save up the medicine from the scientists that spawn there, it takes a couple zombie granades, then you take the medicine and spam granades on the 1 or 2 left.

We used to give up whenever we were killed, miss a POW or when the hidden gems wouldn't give you 30k or 50k.

Still love this game.

That boss wouldn't bother me except for one thing. Playing co-op against it renders that boss fight completely retarded because all of the patterns go straight out the window and you never know which player the projectile is traveling towards. Playing solo against it is so much easier it isn't funny.

I enjoyed most of 4, the last boss also has a similar attack to OP, lazers everywhere and it isn't even clear where to stand. Despite all the laziness surrounding it I think it wasn't therrible.

5 has a couple of interesting fights, but overall it's just uninspired.

No dungeon comes close to Air's Rock in difficulty, especially surprising since it shows up in the first third of the game. It's definitely the "that part" of the game, the reason you don't replay it more often.

Yeah for the most part they're pretty lame.

There's some cool parts like being able to ride Rootmars in 6, fighting Allen mech-to-mech in 7 and XX, the final boss in 5 being a metal-as-hell winged demon, turning into a monkey in 4... And even getting to play as the ikari warriors. But the new games miss out on the style and intent of the original games.

4-XX just don't seem to try as much with the settings, situations, and bosses not being as cool looking or memorable and shit the bed with the level design too.

3's first boss was a crab with a giant tank attached to it crawling towards you.
X's second boss was a giant fucking cobra-like THING that's eating it's way up through this tall as fuck toward to get you
1... Well I suppose none of them were that memorable but the game got an A+ in presentation and was the first of it's kind. I remember the two tanks boss I suppose.

Anyway point is no one's sure how to do things right at this point.

Marco: Stronger handgun
Eri: Starts with 20 grenades and gets 20 grenades on pickups
Flo: Gets more ammo from pickups, starts with a Heavy machinegun
Tarma: Higher slug durability and damage
Ralf: stronger melee, less ammo from pickups, can take 2 hits
Clark: Can use the argentine backbreaker for bonus point and is invincible while using it
Leona: has a special attack, can take an extra hit in the slug, gets more ammo, gets more grenades, and she keeps her weapon when she dies

Bat boss is atleast 70% skill and 30% RNG.
Fact is like 85% RNG and 15% skill.

It took a few times with the bat to get the patterns down so that you would atleast get 70% of the health.

Fact did pretty much as he pleased and i more or less just got lucky on my 50thish try.

Yeah, destructible environments are always neat. They could have probably gone farther with that somehow in terms of level design. There's some hints of it in 3 such as

You simply can't go from standing to full sprint fast enough on keyboard. No, it's not an issue with input delay, the acceleration simply takes longer. It's entirely bullshit programming with no simple workaround. As a result, the way you're "supposed" to get through the lift sections doesn't work.

It's bullshit to say keyboards are "inherently" bad when the devs are intentionally throwing gameplay for it under a bus.

I never got to experience the frustration of this asshole because apparently he summoned too many enemies, which caused him to get stuck in a doorway and he couldn't initiate the 2nd phase of this "fight".

Yeah they are also annoying in chalice dungeons. Their essentially just a harder more aggravating version of Demon's/Dark Souls' Reaper/Necromancer respectively.

I agree though. It's really fucking annoying when all they do is respawn 12 enemies until you can find their ass. Also, unlike previous games which had work arounds (Dark Souls being the best with Divine weapons and proper utilization of knocking skeletons into holes) Bloodbornes attempt just encourages sprinting around in circles looking for the witch because it is impossible to keep the enemies dead long enough to actually find her.
