Not a backer actually. I got the game with a gift card I got for Christmas. Just having fun playing co-op with my little brother and Dad before I go back to university and start my dissertation.

You may be underleveled. I didn't take on the orcs until after I killed most of the undead at the lighthouse/around Cyseal (except graveyard)

Also 8 Perception and you aren't able to see the mines is some other shit. I was able to have my group members call them out with all 6 perception.
