Was Bioshock Infinite a good game or not?
It's alright.
In my opinion it's the weakest Shock title and the most egregious thing about it is how overpraised it was for simply being mediocre.

Undertale is a good comparison, I feel the same about it. (Well actually Undertale is better than Infinite).
Both were too highly praised for what they are in my opinion, which is not uncommon for the vidya reviewer industry.

I actually liked 2 more then 1, if only because I gave up on 1 because the Little Sister protecting part was awful.
The setting and aesthetics were interesting but the gameplay was only fun for two hours untill it got dull and repeditive imo.

If i recall, Infinite and Dishonored came out around the same time and have a similar DLC pattern (pre-order stuff, Arena/Missions, and a 2-Part Campaign DLC Half the size of the normal game),
Of the two, I prefer Dishonored because of the freedom you had to complete the objectives (it felt like more of a Thief game than Th4ef did)

Requesting someone putting a rubicks cube on top of a physical copy of Bioshock infinite.
They removed most of the options from the fights, they removed alot of the extraneous fun stuff that goes along with both Bioshock games, the weapons, the upgrades, the plasmids, the traps, stuff like that.
They added in lots of stuff thats never ever paid off, they failed to make the sky rails even slightly worthwhile using, they made Elizabeth a fucking walking cash and ammo dump and the "tears" were utterly pointless.
They fucked the one boss battle. They never even ever had any interesting side characters like either of the previous games.
Fuck your daughter in Bioshock 2 was a better character in game and in cutscene than anyone in Infinite.
It stands as one of the biggest disappointments I have ever experienced.

I really find it hard to believe that people got confused by that puzzle
It felt like HL2 with a 1890 skin overlaid over it. I enjoyed it for the feeling, visuals and the story. The gunplay was a bit tighter than Bioshock 1.
Still I wouldn't consider any Bioshock a System Shock 2 successor given the lack of backtracking and multi-level visits (Cohen revisit doesn't count).

None of your powers had any impact, most of them were boring grenades, and the weapon system was beyond fucked. All the weapon upgrades are boring %damage/reload type shit and then halfway through the game you get a whole new set of weapons that are better than the first and also clutter the item pool so you're even less likely to find the gun that you invested so much money into. I spent a good chunk of my game walking back and forth between ammo stores because otherwise I couldn't use my one good gun.
The story didn't make any sense because the characters are all retarded. Why did Booker ever think he could move the gun smithing equipment, even if he didn't know how large it was, when the only way to reach the armory is by sky rail? If it's something he could carry under one arm the chinese guy could've hidden it and if he had a zepplin to move it there'd be no point in doing any of it. Also that stupid dimension sickness that was only brought up for 2 minutes and never mentioned again should've been affecting everyone thoughout the whole game if the game is really happening an infinite amount of times because every single person gets shot dead in one split or another.

You liked the gunplay? I thought it was one of the worst aspects of the game. All the plasmid alts were mines, enemies were stupid and total bullet sponges, guns themselves felt flat as fuck to fire.
Nice world design, some pretty inspired moments, and it had a compelling story and decent intrigue (shame it never got a good payoff but whatever)
It honestly felt like one of those games that's hyped and marketed and the devs make all their profits in the first fortnight and the first Steam sale and then nobody thinks about it ever again

Steam is a really shit gauge of how many people did a thing because there's always a good 20% of people that just never launch the game.
Bioshock Infinite was so stupid, the game glitched out if you didn't kill people and just ran past them.
