I'll say it again: Brothers in Arms
Play all three games in order for a story that feels real and gritty. The games do a very good job of building atmosphere. You'll notice that there is hardly any music in the games, and I think this really helps set the tone.
Squad and enemy AI are both very good, although there was a few times when I had to repeat orders.
