Again, both Jedi and lightsabers are just devout samurai and laser swords placed in a sci-fi setting. This wouldn't be a difficult thing to get away with for a creative studio.

Lightsabers are like Superman, you either do them right which makes for a completely broken game or you find some contrived way to nerf them which makes the entire attempt pointless. Too powerful for their own good.
