I've honestly only really played the Mario Kart games and Sonic Transformed, so I couldn't say, but I always see this game and Diddy Kong Racing get mountains of praise. What do CTR and DKR do differently that put them above the others?
Also how does the first Sonic & Sega Racing compare to Transformed? I'm curious.

Sonic and transformed are basically same . Transformed is worse desu because instead of delivering what was broken with first game they instead added gimmick sea levels , air levels. those shit hard to control
but on PC it has too many exclusive characters its much better then Sonic1

It's the best kart racer of all time.
The roar of the engines, squeals of burning tires, boom of nitro boosts, the tangible weight of the kart and slams of metal against metal. Nothing even comes close.
Mario Kart at 200cc is fast, sure, but it's not visceral, or hot-blooded. It's floaty and anemic, like riding a segway on a bowling lane. Jumps, items, drift and even boosting feels muted and lazy in comparison to CTR.
I won't even start on track design and music, in which departments CTR wins by an embarrassing landslide.

Can you run CTR at 60fps on an emulator? I love the game but playing it on real hardware at 15fps really kills the nostalgia.

I thought 3 was incredibly bland, honestly. The real shine in Crash Bandicoot was the levels with side-to-side platforming. For some reason they decided to focus more on the forward platforming, which is agitating considering that you can't move your camera and it's hard to get a sense of depth in some of the stages.
That and Crash 3 took WAY too big of a focus on the extra nonsense, like the airplane levels, and the awful diving stages, and everything else. Crash 1 is gold, and 2 is just as good in most aspects.
Guys, I have finally accepted the fact that the Crash Bandicoot I grew up with is dead and fucking gone forever.
And any "hints" or "easter eggs" I see during conferences or trailers is just that, and nothing more.

No, but it's the most technical, and little bit too complicated imo. Sanic fast racing games =/= good. What I hate is games where you have to spam the same technics mindlessly aka Mario kart DS and, to a lesser extent CTR. But it's still a very good game.
