I honestly had a great time with Starfox Adventures, and I would love another one like it.
Yeah its a fun game. Its far from perfect but overall its entertaining. Flying the arwing become a bother and that's a pretty big flaw considering its Star Fox. I loved Fox's attitude throughout the entire game though. Also Krystal did not make the game. She's not a bad character by any means, but she doesn't define "Star Fox Adventuers".

Its not what Starfox fans were expecting after 64, and some even went far enough to hate it just because it wasn't a rail shooter.
The game was a pretty solid Zelda clone even though they probably could have done more to make it more Starfox-y.

I remember getting that Star Fox Adventures issue of Nintendo Power with several SFA characters on the cover including Krystal, and felt strangely drawn to her. I had always been a Star Fox fan and was curious because I'd never seen this character before. Then I got the actual game and became a bit fixated on her.
