It boils down to the exact same things that happened in the reboot. But it already starts with asspull locations. From there, it's all just a reskin. Including Oni, artifacts, immortality and blablabla. And generic as all fuck characters, combined with all the tropes for antagonists you can think of. The worst is about a half dozen times of not killing Lara when the opportunity arises and they always complain that they didn't afterwards.
It's pathetically badly told.
They wanted to make their "tomb" raider game (tombs are even dumber than in the first one) story driven, and they fucked up.

She doesn't look like the reboot Lara, for some reason. She's whiny, yes, and now the walking trope of daddy-died issues. Aside from that, really the exact same as in the reboot. No rising to be done in Rise, either. It's just a pointless game, unless you liked the fetching and blah gameplay of the first. Right along with more crafting bull.

It was always coming to PC. But it bombed hard because Microsoft wanted an Uncharted and Square thought releasing it exclusively to the platform that TR 2013 sold the least on was a good idea.

They also released it the same day as Fallout 4, it was a clusterfuck all round.
Now they're bringing it to PC first, in January, right after everyone has probably bought tonnes of games cheap after the winter sales and might well wait for the price to come down, and will presumably release it on PS4 to coincide with the release of UC4.

Bought Tomb Raider 2013 and thought the start was pretty promicing. Not like the original, but liked the stealth gameplay and there was still some exploring. Then boom right after I've passed the 2 hour mark and can't refund it it turns into a fucking on-rail QTE shitfest with Lara being a fucking machine mowing through countless enemies. I got so played, lads.

What do all of you people think a modern Tomb Raider game SHOULD be like?
I think that if they made backtracking necessary, a la metroidvania games, made tombs an integral, non-optional part of the game because it's fucking Tomb Raider, and had some actually cool settings like Tomb Raider III, it could be great.

Proper combat with humans should still be a thing, in my opinion, but it should be a strain on resources, and you shouldn't be able to get into big bombastic scripted fire fights. Just place enemies in the same numbers you see in the early games, and it would be good. Also, speaking of creatures, I'd love to see some proper, interesting abominations again, more that you need to run away from, too.
