Kings are still useless. You'd think they'd give us some form of kingly defense but no let's just not give a fuck about it and focus on the african kingdoms haha.

But AoE2 is fun, it's only a small team working on these, too.The Ethiopians and Malians are sick, and fun to play. The Portuguese and Berbers aren't bad, but less for me. They even buffed camels, buffing camel civs indirectly, and the Franks, probably the worst civ before, directly.
They also fixed issues with the forgotten, I wouldn't be surprised if ranked with AK becomes a thing like it never was with AoF.
The expansion is an amazing improvement. Again, camels now aren't useless, Franks and Indians are actually playable, water maps aren't just jamming galleys, and the new civs and campaigns are actually good.
