Is it me or did Solid Snake get the most painful treatment from Kojima? We played as a faceless Solid Snake and had a good time on the PS1, then as a proper and well crafted build of him on the PS2 for an exciting 30 minutes only to play as a trap boypussy for the rest of the sequel, to an old aged dying and constantly choking Old Snake on the PS3 in a game with ridiculous gameplay to cutscene ratio.
Why did Kojima do this to him?

Apparently Kojima was depressed during the development of MGS4 because he almost broke up with her wife.
In fact, he wanted to have Otacon and Snake executed at the end of MGS4.
He's still with her as of today though.

Kojima wanted to drop MGS after MGS1.
After MGS1, he just did things he found interesting.
With MGS2, he did exactly the opposite of what people expected MGS1's sequel to be.
Instead of a new adventure, it's Shadow Moses 2.0
Instead of Snake, it's a whiny faggot who looked up to him.
Basically Raiden is a kind of self insert of the player up until the Patriots revelation, where he drops the tags with your name, and becomes your own character.
Pretty much the opposite of what he did with MGSV, where you think you are Big Boss, but it's actually the player.
