The only augment you need is an Ares90. There's literally no way you can die in Yggralith that way. For Telethia is good to have any augment that ignores reflect of beam/thermal damage.

Use an art tied to the weapon you want to start a combo with (purple is fine as long as its tied to that weapon) and then within a few seconds of finishing that art, use the art that has extra effects from a combo.

Normal (npc) missions: Have some dialogue boxes. Your quality will strongly vary.
Affinity missions: Now you have voice acting and some better moments with side characters.

For anyone who isn't Elma or Lin, they rarely interact with anyone besides the MC in affinity missions, not even the other party members. This just comes off as really awkward, since the character is basically having a conversation with themselves. You can't really show off a character's personality or wit when they have no one to bounce off of

Lin is a mechanic, chef, and suffers from poor self confidence. Shes young, but around Elma, tries to acts mature, although with time she's become a bit more relaxes and carefree. She rarely lets herself be kid, but its evident in her second heart to heart she just wants to relax from time to time. She feels compelled to help NLA and humanity's cause in any way possible due to her parents death and the knowledge they gave her. She acknowledges that she needs a lot of work to stand up to the expectations expected of her, and often spends far too much time working because she doesnt want to let anyone down. She learned to cook from her mother, and finds it a calming activity, and one that again helps out the people around her. She chooses to use a shield in battle not because she's afraid, but because she's willing to do anything to protect her unit. She knows that she was given a spot in Elmas team because Elma seen something in her and shes not wanting to let her down.

Maybe. Shimonura isnt my cup of tea at the best of times (pianos and overusing strings - the composer) but I think I could have gotten behind the soundtrack if it were all by her. It just feels very disconnected from the game at times, but when it does click it clicks well, particularly in a few of the field musics. I pretty much hated every battle theme though. The soundtrack paints this picture of fantasy and then throws metal at you in the battle themes.

I recently obtained the final party member in Xenoblade 1. Roughly how much longer should the game take me and is it worth grinding up their passive abilities?
Just got the game. Picked Curators because I heard it's easy to level at first. I was told that Prospectors is the best choice later when I have a Skell. Not sure what class to start toward though. Which one's really fun? Or which is best to begin with? Just the top path like the game recommends?
I found a nice grinding spot for level 45-60 if you guys want it.
At the top of the waterfall at the north of Noctilum there's 3 lvl 60 crocodiles that go dow really easy yet give 800 exp each, and are right next to a fast travel poi tt for easy grinding. You really only need 2 high level characters (above 50) to take them down so your other characters get the exp as well.

Really? I played endlessly for 2 weeks but this passed week I've just slowed down.
Once you've got a good set of skills/arts/augments all the battles just become you staring at the cooldowns and triggering the same combos while listening to Wir fliegen.
I've done most of the interesting missions, the remaining ones are always easy and just more fast travelling.
The grind for endgame items is just so tedious and repetitive. Constant fast travelling and looking for monsters and teleporting back to skells to get monsters to respawn for more grinding.
I'll still 100% it but probably over the next few months rather than days.

No, I experimented. I've unlocked all the classes and just looked at the best combos before spending my BP to max the arts out (all my arts are at L3 is minimum.
Ended up with Crit/TP-focus. So just infinitely overdrive and use high-crit high-potential arts for massive damage.
The game is all about experimentation so I suggest you only use a guide when you're seriously stuck at something.

Nope. The game pretty much tells you to maintain your overdrive when it's first introduced. You can see how much it benefits you just from the multipliers and the fact that the music barely gets a chance to play with a short overdrive. So it's normal for anyone actually paying attention to the game to go into the arts and figure out how to achieve that.
People in this thread that don't know how to even fast travel are the types that need a guide to hand-hold them for every simple step.

I'm playing xenoblade on gamecube for first time.
the sidequests are lame and there are so many. I'm 16 hours in and in colony 6 mines with fucktons of sidequests done. but even if you grind if you're too overleveled you don't get exp.
story doesn't seem THAT amazing. the combat feels like ff12 which is fine. the menus are lame and crafting is awful.
with that said...the landscapes and music are truly awesome. but besides this I'm not quite sure if this game is living up to all the hype I've heard.
anyhow I'm thinking of dropping it. or at least make it to some snow area that people saw looks cool. when does the story pick up?

As for nemesis, they are world events that you access in the barracks under Squad Missions. They are bosses with millions of HP bars that you see how many you can deplete in a limited amount of time. When you finish, you get shit you can sell for tickets (you get like 1.5k each run), and at the end of the event (it says in the mission), you get spoils that, in the case of telethia, is like 98 Telethia Stem Cells
