>gift game
>they accept but add it to their steam inventory
>trade/sell it away

>gift game i know bro will like
>turns out he was away on business and died in a storm
i cant fight this feeling anymore

>receive gift on steam
>it's 60gb
>have shit connection
>1day 2hours to complete
It's the thought that counts I suppose.
>Buy game
>Never install/play it
How many times have you made this mistake?

This happened to me when someone gifted me FFXIII, except I have a connection so terrible I'd actually cry tears of joy if it took me only one day to download 60GB.
>Friend buys me game
>Never install it
I.. just don't have the drive to play it....

How about you ask them first you appreciation-seeking bastard.
>>321517127
>adding more games to my backlog
>expecting me to drop everything and play it while sucking your dick at the same time because of your most "generous" gift you probably got for $2 in a sale
>friend finds out they missed my birthday
>"You should have told me! I'd have gotten you a game on steam!"
>"No thanks I don't play games on my PC"
>Friend gifts Valkyria Chronicles over steam
>Install it
>Find out its supposed to be played with a controller
>Controller no where to be seen
Dont worry, Ill play it.
I was gifted DOTA 2 a couple of years ago. Never tried it.
My friend bought me Demon's Souls and some PS2 games that I never finish to this day. Still feel guilty about it.
>>321517495
You won't because the lobbies are broken beyond redemption right now. Wait for an hour to play a single round more like.
>Be girl
>Get steam gifts up the ass
>"Hey, did you try that game I got you?"
Fucking, I appreciate it but I can't play every game everyone gets me and wants me to fucking play.
>>321521007
Isn't it kinda weird being gifted games by people like that? I get some from my friends every now and then, and give some, but that's usually to play together.
Also,
>some guy gifts me Dark Souls because I never tried it
>asked him if he wanted to watch me play
>am now planning on streaming it for him and a few others soon
>>321517127
why bother giving games to people ? I mean fuck man, its like forcing people phones when they don't "want" it.
Keep it for yourself, fuck those people.

here is a tip:
do not gift anyone an item that related to his hobby.
they know the subject better than you and you are just giving them some casual shit. they will just pretend to be happy
go for something he is not interested but necessary for everyone [eg. socks]
My steam friend bought me The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, which is like an 80+ hour game, I played it all out of guilt.
They've bought me the Second Chapter now.
I don't even like RPGs.

Gifted six games during Christmas, one game per person, picked from their own wishlists. Only two were accepted. Wtf.
>>321522310
Better tell him that before he buys you cold steel.
>>321517127
>buy friend a game from the top of his wishlist
>he immedietaly drops whatever he is playing and starts the game I bought for him
That's how it is done.
any big game i gift my friends always play. anything i get them at christmas or summer are usually joke games which i'm not bothered about.

>friend got me new game on wishlist for holiday
>"Thanks man!"
>was busy all day yesterday and have company over all day today
>see this thread
No, no, the game is installed and I will enjoy it the very moment I have some uninterrupted time on my hands!
