I played till lvl 130 on ps3 with an assassin and healslut pawn.
Watcha play now? I like swords, and I just discovered the glories of perfect blocking by the end of my last playthrough.
My first idea is to roll an broody, aragorn-ish fighter and turn to assassin (since hotkeys for weapons will make it godly) and have a tanky fighter knight girl pawn.
My biggest worry is to not get good healing pawns every 5 levels. Mine was pretty well trained for a healer, good inflincations, and told her to shut up most of the time. It was a pretty appreciated pawn in /dragonsdogma/, but now I would like to try to train a tank badass fighter.

The main game is standard rpg fare with a combat that is slower than dmc but more fluid than monster hunter.
The DLC(which will come with the pc release anyways) is a dark (like literally dark, hard to see) gauntlet with lots of traps and overpowered enemies.

It is a nice setting. Even with the horrible console muddied textures and low fps it is a nice looking game with lots of different playstyles and enemy variety. Even re-skinned enemies function differently from each other.

Yes and no. They set a general benchmark for games to not pass but the bigger problem is not the hardware but the development philosophies which concentrate on the 'cinematic' experience and on shitty visual effects. Most high budget devs are too interested in cashing in than to push the envelope.
STUNNING VISUALS are nice and fare better in the PC environment but on the gameplay side the only real difference are the peripherals. Most often, the genres of games which are better with controllers or with KB&M don't overlap and the player niche don't cross-over from one platform to the other so it's not a huge issue.
One of the few aspects in which consoles are really limiting (and it's as much of a design choice than a philosophy rather than a hardware limitation) is the absolutely horrible obsession with low framerates.

Did you play the DMC4 port? Swapping takes a few minutes, but it's easy. You had to slow the song down to 0.9x speed and turn it into an .ogg file, then rename it to whatever the song you want it to replace.

Your best bet is do Daimon runs. The chests that you get after defeating him have a pretty high chance of BBI weapon/armor/gear.

In fact, we had the Japanese audio checkbox ticked on the store page right before the pre-purchase went live but had to remove it at the last minute as things didn't pan out as we had hoped. We really can't get into specifics beyond that...sorry.
We understand some fans are disappointed and appreciate the feedback, and we're truly sorry for not being able to deliver on that front. But we do hope fans can still enjoy the game for what it is. It's still a great game if I may say so after having invested more than 300 hours myself. I personally look forward to exchanging pawns with the community once the game launches.
Content wise, the port team stuffed everything else they possibly can into the base game plus some extra features fans had asked for. That includes new Achievements for high level players (most are post game & BBI-related), customizable item hot keys, graphics and performance enhancements, and other nice-to-have nips and tucks that greatly improves the overall Dragon's Dogma experience.

Hard mode is pretty artificial difficulty. Enemies have inflated health pools, do tons more damage and your stamina costs are doubled. Benefits are double XP and more money. When a pawn dies you have a limited amount of time to get them back up(with minimal health, of course). If you don't make it in time, or they fall off a cliff or something, then they are permanantly gone from your party until you revive them at a watcha-macallit stone. And those typically aren't found at the depths of the dungeon you're currently in.

Pawns have 2 death states, similar to down but not out and actually dead.
In down but not out, you can run up to them and press a button to bring them back, but at half health (there are augments from certain classes that increase this health gain). If its your pawn that is dead, all you have to do is return to a Riftstone (where you summon pawns) and press the interact button. If a hired pawn dies, you'll have to find it again from the Riftstone Nexus. No cost associated with this, unless they are a higher level than you.

It means if you keep a save with a pawn on hand and then swap saves by starting a new game or something, it will mean your old pawn gets erased until you switch back to that save. It could cause renting problems, but thats about it.
