I want to buy a Vita so bad, but I do all digital for handhelds. I can't justify going out and paying $130 for one, and then another ~$70 to get less storage space then what I paid $40 for on my 3ds.
I really like its library, having FFI-X2 on one portable system sounds like a dream.

I got a 16 GB card for 20 bucks on Black Friday. It's enough for me because I play just one or two games at a time and move on when I finish them. So I can have one or two permanent fixture games like EDF and just delete the more story-oriented ones once I'm done after backing up my save data on my PC.

I've heard lots of good things about it, especially with the whole "it's as good or better than Sky". Gates to Infinity was complete trash, I couldn't play more than a few hours of it. I hope the hype is justified, cause I'm pretty excited to play a good PMD game again.
On a Vita related note, is anyone hype for Digimon? It's the only game I've been actively looking forward to and will definitely buy on day 1 in a long, long time.

Look into Tales of Hearts R. It's not dubbed and the translation is a little iffy at times but it's a decent game either way. If nothing else, the combat is fun.

Depends on how much of a penny-pincher you are. It'll certainly go on sale. The games have been on sale separately for cheaper than that in the past.
The games are also love or hate and if you end up disliking Rorona+ you'll end up with serious buyer's remorse.
