Besides some really expensive special storage media stored in secure locations, the best way to reliably store information is to just keep it distributed and constantly being transferred to new hardware (like what's happening with torrents).

On consoles, sure. Don't really care on PC. But how do those digital games even work on PS3? Can I sign in to my account on someone else's console and download my games for them?
