Personally i never use the 3D feature on my 3DS anyway. I got an XL for my birthday and it's nice but the 3D doesnt do anything for me, just makes it all blurry and fuzzy and the 3D doesnt come up as often enough or have good enough quality to warrant using.
So yeah, the 2DS is probably perfectly fine if you dont care about using the 3D.
